Overview

The CD-ROM includes the installation files for The Libraries Directory data and for the application required to access the data. The application consists of a browser-style interface for viewing and navigating between entries, as well as extensive search facilities. The Marketing Version also includes tools for creating, managing and outputting mailing lists.

The 50th Edition includes a number of improvements and new features, including:

  Email Mail Merge
As well as being able to print out address labels and mail merge documents from your mailing lists, you can now send mail merges by email from within The Libraries Directory application. Includes a built-in email program which allows you to import, create and edit plain text or HTML-formatted messages, to send attachments, to embed graphics, and to customise individual messages.

  Mailing List Tools
Improved editing facilities, allowing greater customisation of individual addresses, and a search tool allowing you to find specific addresses quickly and easily.

  PDF Printing
If you have the Acrobat Distiller printer driver installed on your computer, you can now export address labels and mail merge documents as PDF files.

If you have purchased the Marketing Version, then the password required to unlock the mailing list facilities is printed on the insert of the CD-ROM.

You can upgrade from the Reference Version to the Marketing Version by purchasing a password from the publishers that will unlock the mailing list facilities. You can enter this password either in the Start Up dialog or the Options dialog.

Expiry Date
The license for the Marketing Version of The Libraries Directory has a lifetime of three years, as measured from the date on which you first install the application. After this time, the license for the marketing facilities will expire, and you will no longer be able to use the mailing list functions of the software, although you will still be able to use application as a reference tool. To check how many days the license has to run, click on About the Libraries Directory CD-ROM in the Help menu. The days remaining until the expiry date is displayed with other information about the application. A message box will also appear on start up to warn you when you are approaching the expiry date. You can renew the license by purchasing a new edition of the Directory from the publishers. This limitation does not apply to the Reference Version.

Licensing Options

Both versions of the Libraries Directory CD-ROM are also available under two licensing options:

  The Single User License
Can only be installed and used on a single computer.

  The Network License
Can be installed on a network server or a computer connected to a network and accessed across the network by multiple users. The maximum number of individual users permitted with this option is five per license.

You can upgrade from the Single-User License to the Network License by purchasing a password from the publishers. You will need to reinstall the application in order to set it up for network use.

Read the full text of the Libraries Directory License Agreement.
