The most detailed directory of its kind, The Libraries Directory covers libraries, archives and related organisations in the UK (including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) and Ireland. Formerly The Libraries, Museums and Art Galleries Year Book, it has been published by James Clarke since 1897, making it one of the longest established directories in the UK.
The 50th Edition of The Libraries Directory has over 4,100 entries, an increase of more than 300 entries from the previous edition. As well as the range of the Directory, the depth of its coverage has also been improved, including a wider selection of contact names, especially those officers responsible for inter-library loans.
Extensively cross-referenced, the book retains the same user-friendly layout developed in recent editions, including the use of pictorial icons that allow you to distinguish the type of each library or institution at a glance.
